New Jersey provides a plethora of opportunities for nursing education and employment. For example, University Hospital is the principal teaching hospital of the UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School and is the busiest Level I trauma center in the state. Other universities such as Rutgers, Princeton and the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey offer advanced degrees with numerous choices in specialties that range from acute care to oncology and from child care to women’s practice. New Jersey offers many opportunities for employment in the health care field, and Newark alone is home to seven hospitals. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is the largest hospital in the city and is a part of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, the state’s largest system of hospital and health care facilities. Beth Israel also is home to the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey. Other hospitals in Newark include the St. James Hospital, St. Michael’s Medical Center, Columbus Hospital and Mount Carmel Guild Hospital. Atlantic City is home to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Centers’ main campus. AtlantiCare has thousands of employees, hundreds of services, and scores of locations for you to choose from for employment. Beyond these facilities, Bergen Regional Medical Center provides health care to the residents of Paramus, NJ. Located on a 65 acre campus, BRMC boasts 1,185 beds making it the largest hospital in the state. Other hospitals, medical centers and health care systems are located in cities and towns such as Morristown, Lakewood, New Brunswick, Camden, Englewood, Jersey City and more.
