Although the range of programs seems holistic today, a humble beginning forms the history of the Jacksonville University School of Nursing.

When nursing courses were first initiated here in the early 1960s, the program available was for an Associate of Science in Nursing degree. Nonetheless, after receiving accreditation by the National League for Nursing in 1988, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for registered nurses commenced.

In response to a critical shortage of nurses in the year 2000, the school started on a second degree program for students with a bachelor’s degree in an alternate field. Partnering with University Alliance, the foremost name in e-learning solutions, Jacksonville University eventually became one of the largest providers of online RN to BSN programs.
